MTB Coaching
Better on the bike. Better for it.
Mountain bike coaching in Cairns with world-class rider Mick Hannah — desinged to develop real skills, confidence, and control on the trail.
Whether you’re starting out or refining advanced technique, each session is tailored to your level and focused on progression that translates directly to how you ride.
This is coaching designed to move you forward — not just on the bike, but in how you approach challenge, flow, and progression.
The Flight Path
A structured progression designed to build control, confidence, and flow on the trail.
Every rider’s journey follows a path — from mastering control, to finding rhythm, to pushing limits and exploring freedom. The Flight Path is our structured on-bike coaching framework, designed to guide that progression with clarity and purpose.
Each session targets a specific area of development while building toward complete confidence on the bike. You can focus on a single skill or move through the full progression, delivering consistency, capability, and control at every stage.
Explore each stage to see how skills develop through real riding.

Soar
Lift off! Land with purpose.
Progress safely into jumps, drops, and lift technique through step-by-step instruction. We break down approach speed, body positioning, commitment, and landing control to make airtime predictable and repeatable. The session scales to your comfort and ability, ensuring progression without unnecessary risk.
Conducted mainly on blue to black-graded trail features, this is the pathway to confident, controlled elevation — developing trust in both your bike and yourself.
Flow State
Ride Smoother, think clearer.
Building on core technique, this session turns control into consistency. We link corners, manage momentum, and refine how body position, speed, and terrain interact. You’ll develop smoother transitions, stronger traction, and efficiency across varying trail conditions. For advanced riders, we explore race lines, vision, and precision timing.
Flow State delivers measurable progress in momentum, rhythm, and adaptability — the foundation of confident, effortless riding.
Ride the Unknown
Challenge Accepted
Designed for riders confident on advanced terrain and ready to refine high-level control. We focus on line choice, risk management, and maintaining composure through complex or unpredictable trail features. Expect steep gradients, varied traction, and split-second decision-making — typically on black and double-black trails.
You’ll strengthen terrain analysis, reaction speed, and confidence when the trail throws something new. Precision, control, and commitment define this session.
Just Ride
Ride, Reflect, Connect.
With Mick Hannah
A guided ride with Mick that blends exploration, insight, and mentoring. There’s no set plan — only great trails, shared stories, and learning in motion. Coaching happens naturally through observation and conversation: tips on flow, line choice, or mindset offered in real time. Ideal for reconnecting with the joy of riding or seeking quiet guidance in good company.
Part exploration, part mentorship — all fun.
Pump it Up
Find Your Rhythm
A session designed to build speed, timing, and control through pumping — generating momentum with your body rather than the pedals. We refine weight transfer, pressure control, and transition timing, then apply it to linking rollers, manuals, and berms. Sessions can be held at Clifton Beach, Brinsmead, or the Crankworx Pump Track.
Your trail bike is fine, though a dirt jump bike or BMX offers faster progression through more direct, immediate feedback.
This session develops momentum control, rhythm, and deliberate movement — foundations that transfer directly to trail riding.
The Flight Path reflects Mick Hannah’s approach to rider development, shaped through decades of elite competition and coaching
Coaching sessions built around you
Every session is shaped around your goals, ability, and the terrain you’re riding. Whether you’re working on fundamentals or refining advanced technique, coaching is delivered in a way that translates directly to real-world riding.
Sessions can be taken one-on-one or shared with friends — a flexible way to progress together while still receiving focused, structured guidance
